Doesn't work and does NOT read right away

I have used this product 3 times and it has never been accurate. An instant-read thermometer should also tell you the temperature instantly. It took over a minute each time I used it to read the temp (I gave up before it even got to temp or my steak would have been overcooked). I am very disappointed in this product! It is also very large and bulky.
