I rarely write reviews but their email I received today pissed me off because after 3 years of using it on my phone they changed the turning lights on and off, have decided to use the coronavirus crisis to complain you are not making enough money and are forcing you to become a subscriber, or you are losing the opportunity to use the product you have already paid for . First, it will NEVER connect to Alexa. So part of the voice functionality is an epic fail. I have read all the tutorials on the internet that I could find. never worked Second, half the time the app didn't even work and I had to manually press a button to turn it off. Now the email that finally prompted me to post the review. According to their email they are losing money so they decided to pass this cost on to PREVIOUS customers or you will no longer be able to use your device. Because instead of developing an app that relies on home WiFi and connects your phones to the internet, they chose to run it on their own servers. Then turn around and complain about the cost of their servers and explain why you're losing service if you're not forced to pay their $4.99 monthly fee. TURN ON! It was a bad product from the start. Now it's just terrible. Do not buy. I work with programmers every day. The first thing my friend told me when I forwarded the email was that my idea of running it over my home WiFi and connecting to your phones was the best way to avoid all this nonsense . But no! So long wink! I also pass them on to your competitors. Just so everyone knows, Quirky (Wink's incubator company) went bankrupt, then the company was sold, and then sold back to i.am+, owned by Black Eyed Peas musician Will.I.Am. Now it looks like they only resorted to blackmail to avoid another bankruptcy.
