Know It's Real

If you think six bucks is too much for a rectangular adapter, think again. This is a very well made, high quality, commercial grade product. First impressions are that when you receive it it's not just tossed in a plastic bag, but in a protective blister pack. It describes it as being suitable for server racks and equipment cases, so you know its intended use is high-end setups. The adapter itself weighs an impressive nearly two ounces. A close look inside reveals full electrical contacts rather than the simplistic design found on most household accessories these days. WHAT IT IS Reading some of the other comments it seems that the intended use of this product may not be entirely clear. It's not a multi-tap, its only job is to change the orientation of the grounded plug by 90 degrees, but it's not designed for wall tapping, in other words if you want to use it to reduce cord length. from the outlet, since you might want to move the furniture closer to the wall, that won't help you. It juts out 1.75 inches on its own and there's a reason for that, if it were much smaller it couldn't be used with some powerful off-the-shelf grounded plugs, denying some users why it's wanted or needed. Just simplify your thinking and tell yourself what it does - it converts the fork orientation to a fixed right angle, that's all. REVIEW I checked this with a meter and didn't see any noticeable drop in performance. I've wiggled the adapter and plug and checked for shorts or power failures, but found nothing. That's why it costs six dollars. For what it's designed for, it's the highest quality adapter of its kind I've found.
