Review on πŸ”‘ JR Products Large Key Lock Multi-Purpose/Fuel Hatch with Slant Back - Polar White by Nathan Guzman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy construction, UV-resistant

Sturdy, beautiful fuel cap for my motorhome. The old one was black and had no lock. This one should do the trick. Robust construction! Update added: For the past year, it's been surviving the sun's rays in sunny Los Angeles with no problem. The stock gas cap on my RV didn't have a lock. The plastic insert was black and did not match the van. The seals were old. It was old, black, ugly and without a lock. Anyone could open the gas cap and steal gas or fill my gas with junk. I removed the old insert and had to cut off part of the outside with a jigsaw and a Dremel Multi Max Flush Blade to mount this cabinet door insert. Once that was done I cleaned up the rest of the old sealant with acetone and resealed it with 1" butyl tape before installing the insert. I had to put a large hole in this new insert to mount the existing gas tank valve with a drill. (Port Freight) mounted on a drill. It was difficult to measure the position of the holes due to the sloping rise, but they fitted well. Measuring where to cut the hole is the hardest part, the rest is easy. Uses 1/2" stainless steel screws to prevent rust. After installation, the remains of the butyl tape are trimmed off and the screw heads are (very lightly) pickled to prevent rust and to match the cabinet liner. , so in this case you will have to possibly change the lock but this is not critical Very happy with the purchase!
