Review on kathson Woven Pet Hay Bed for Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, and Cats with Bonus Ball by Jenny Davis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A great alternative to a hay rack. Pretty durable. Not easy to clean.

UPDATE: I bought it on June 25th, 2018. It's October 23, 2018 and I think it's time for a new one due to the soiling of the soil, although I change the dirty hay daily. I'm very happy with how long it's been going. It is in good condition except for the dirty floor. I suppose you could put some kind of liner on the floor to try and keep it clean? ORIGINAL POST: It's durable. I got it as an alternative to a hay rack for my skinny guinea pig. If you haven't heard of the potential dangers of wire hay racks, I encourage you to look into the matter. My guinea pig often likes to move his bowl so I decided to fill him with hay. He really seems to enjoy it and has never been able to move. He likes to climb in and eat his hay. From time to time he also likes to take a nap in it, there is enough space for him. I'm not sure how well this works on rabbits. My guinea pig weighs less than 3 kg. The only downside to this bedding is that it's made from a type of hay and if you don't clean it often enough (sometimes even if you clean it often) it tends to get dirty and I don't use water or detergent to clean it depending on the type of materials used. I usually just wipe it off and shake out any leftover food or hay dust. I got it back at the end of June for $14.99 and it has held up well apart from being a little dirty. If you want something that's easier to clean, I'd recommend looking further. Otherwise I would recommend trying it out.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • poorly thought out
