My wrist cracked and tingled when my dog pulled on it hard while walking. I was feeling fine after a few minutes but thought I'd play it safe as I have tendonitis issues and I already need to do wrist exercises to prevent carpal tunnel. So I left these braces on for a few days, hoping that they would help with any healing that might be needed. The day after my wrist burst, I was put in a night splint. My wrist felt fine the night before it arrived but hurt a little while typing during the day. I put on my FUTURO day brace as soon as I received it (I ordered both braces at once) and felt much more comfortable. It's also made by 3M, so I was optimistic about the ACE sleepwear. The night bandage was terrible. When I woke up, my hand was swollen and it was difficult to bend my fingers fully. This edema decreased during the day but persisted until late in the evening. I have decided not to wear the corset again that night and will contact the doctor if the swelling persists in the morning. He wasn't there in the morning. When I put the night brace on for a night I didn't over tighten it but it seemed to aggravate my wrist. I don't think it was user error because I was careful. I also followed the instructions on the packaging. (The instructions on the box tell me to keep my arm in the correct position and position the "comfort balls" correctly for a neutral arm position.) Unlike this night brace, the day brace I also bought gives me no problems. In fact, I really like the "S/M" "Compression Stabilizer" size that 3M makes. But understandably I don't like their "Night Wrist Sleep Support". I'm not sure why one works for me and the other doesn't.
