I just had a mastectomy and can't use my arms. i love christmas nuts I had a manual nutcracker and it didn't crack all the nuts, just big ones. I read the reviews and the complaints were the same. I have requested a refund. No other nutcracker had a nutshell and everyone was complaining about the same thing. Then I got the idea to put something between two pieces of wood. I had a round magnet with a magic wand on the back. I only attached it to one side of the 2 woods, please see the pictures and it works great with all sizes of nuts. I think I was lucky I had something of the right thickness and gauge to put it in there and get the job done. The magnet used is 1" in diameter and 0.3" thick. I canceled the return. I don't know how long this works, but it works. Use what you have. I think even 2 coins will do. You can glue it easily because it's wood. I paint a wooden tray with Christmas paint and let it rip!
