I was looking for double skewers for grilling. The all-metal units I saw seemed flimsy and short. This wooden handle type looked more durable. I agree with some comments that the tips of skewers tend to curve when you put food on them. This is similar to the nature of these double skewers and occurs on all models and they tend to tear some foods. HOWEVER, with a little effort, you can keep the tines parallel while pushing the food through and solve the "problem". I really like these double skewers! They prevent the food from spinning as intended, like on a single skewer. The handles get hot even when protruding from the grill lid - wear oven mitts when touching! Next time I'll try covering the wooden handles with foil and tucking them all the way under the grill lid so I can position them where I want.
