Works great! I know some people have had trouble opening the battery compartment - I had no trouble opening and replacing the cover. I've also read that some people couldn't open the device (the part you put your camcorder tape in) - I had absolutely no problems with that part either. You just move the little arrow and it will open automatically. All in all we've used it about 20 times now and it works flawlessly every time. The product costs $25 and that is the quality of what is in this price range. We handle it with care and don't leave our video cameras stuck in it. The bands should line up with two small tabs, and if you don't place them correctly, they may seem difficult to insert. When you are ready to take out the camcorder tape, an open circle will appear on the back, all you have to do is slide your finger through it and it will come right out. We didn't have any of the problems mentioned in other reviews. Just be careful :-)
