Review on Art Shaving Morris Signal Collection by Vanessa Jones

The Art of Shaving The Morris Park Signal Collection Razor doesn't even attempt to have any value. This is a premium brand created for those who just want a premium brand. The problem with this is that you really only get a razor handle here. The blades aren't even the brand you're buying. If you want a Gillette Fusion blade, then I'm not sure why you would want a "luxury" piece of plastic for $55 (and that's it. Obviously things made of "ABS plastic" are luxury items now ). It works out. fits like a razor handle, although I'm not sure it performs any better than the standard Fusion handles, which are literally a fraction of the price (and come with an additional downloadable blade). It doesn't scream "premium" build quality or functionality, and frankly, it feels like something pricey because they know (or at least hope) certain demographics will pay whatever price they set. It doesn't feel more "balanced" than standard Gillette pens, nor does it seem to work better as an "extension of my hand". Aside from the limited "chrome accents," even the design feels understated, and to be honest it feels like a step down from the standard Fusion grip. Ultimately, however, the quality of your shave will depend on the blade(s) you use. and in that case you might be wondering why The Art of Shaving would even attempt here if they don't even make their own blades. The short answer, of course, is that Procter and Gamble is the parent company of Gillette and The Art of Shaving, so it is, and I'm sure Procter and Gamble wouldn't want to spend more money making a superior blade if they did do know that their existing and inexpensive options are a perfectly viable option as they are. The same conclusions should be drawn, if not for the entire Art of Shaving line, then certainly for this half-hearted (but very expensive) attempt.
