The product can be used, I expected a little more.

If not for these dances with a tambourine, the disc could be considered very good . I hope the manufacturer will correct the sins of these discs in the future . Some pros: Very fast, perhaps this is the fastest drive among drives of this class from different manufacturers (this applies to ST2022DM001 and ST3000DM001 drives and not only to this model) Different cons: Constant crashes. I've already bought 4 ST2022DM001 disks and all have the same problems: With the factory firmware, after some load (read-write, for example, a torrent), performance dropped sharply to only 3-5 megabytes / sec. and after 5-10 minutes it completely disappeared from the system, after rebooting the disk is gone, it appears only after turning off the power - this problem manifested itself regardless of the OS. and on a variety of controllers and in their different modes of operation, I tried literally everything, even set a jumper to 1.5GBit limit. cleaned the contacts of the head connector. disconnected APM. everything is useless, did not help) after changing the firmware to the latest version from the manufacturer's website, the situation has changed only in that the disk has ceased to be stupid and slow down, but has not stopped falling off the system . I noticed an interesting feature if the disk is not very heavily loaded, it can work for a long time without failures, but you just need to load it, and not it takes half an hour as it falls off . (as if overheating) the smart shows a temperature of only 32 degrees . today I soldered all the microcircuits and added heat-conducting rubber bands, to the memory chip (they need a thicker rubber band) and to the drive-head controller (there is a need for rubber thin, the most interesting thing is that a heat sink is provided on it, but for some reason they regretted the rubber band . I assume that it was precisely because of the local overheating of this microcircuit that failures occurred .) I have been testing for two hours already ace, so far everything seems to be fine. some time has passed. the glitches remain, the rubber bands are useless. I found a solution, I repaired my disks. from the beginning I thought the problem was in the hardware, or rather with overheating of some components, but this not so. the problem is in the disk program. the firmware is not enough. with the help of special equipment, you need to make some changes to the disk program, after which they work great.
