My home is not ferret proof and there is no way to make it 100% ferret proof; My ferrets don't use the litter box either when I let them out. That is amazing. My little boys never went out to play and exercise, I couldn't let them run around my apartment and they got sad and depressed. Since I've had this, they've had plenty of room to play and hang out. It was a blessing; they are so happy! It took a while but now they use their litter box almost all the time as they have gotten used to the whole space. Accident, my carpet is not damaged. In addition, blankets are thrown from above. I highly recommend it. However, another reviewer said her ferrets died from it. I don't think this can happen if you secure the top and bottom of each connector with zip ties so they can't try to get through, but as it was I'm always careful and you have to be too careful. .
