Many functions just don't work

Many functions just don't work, e.g. The Blue Ray DVR will turn on but none of the function keys will do anything. Volume control doesn't work, channel switching doesn't work. The DVR button does not work. The DVR button does not work. The bass button doesn't work, in short this remote control is a piece of junk.
