Review on 📸 IOGEAR GFR204SD Green Card Reader/Writer: Enhance data transfer with SD/MicroSD/MMC compatibility by Djmikis Parker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Handy but poorly designed

I bought one of these for my DS cards as I upload thousands of shots a year for my amateur photography hobby and they work well for a while but don't last long. I've been using it for about a year before they just fizzle out and since windows 10 is basically a joke of the operating system errors are very difficult to diagnose and you end up thinking your sd card is dead when it's ok (this one Part is at Microsoft, but unfortunately that's how PCs work, unless you're a professional photographer and can't afford a Mac). Also remember that you must have significant clearance on the side of the reader opening to insert the card. This can be a problem for those who want to use any USB port. This goes for ANY of these short profile USB readers. If they could run "a little" longer and get Windows to report an error instead of locking itself when a card is inserted, that would be great and still deserves a 5-star rating. . It s cheap. Don't expect much in terms of durability, but for the average user, this is a great buy. 4 stars for the value. It's a pretty decent device, but I wish it had lasted a little longer.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Infinitely slow
