Well if you plan on using the whole jar. Not if you want to save some coolant for later.

It is best to measure the width of the can to make sure it is airtight. Do not measure the seams of the can. The label on the box specifically states that it fits 2.875", 2.625" and 2.125" wide cans. This tool cannot be adjusted, so if it deviates too much from those dimensions, it will likely fit not exactly against the can and an will leak. A caliper will help. I have found it best to pierce the can towards the bottom of the can. The can is stronger and less likely to crush the can too much and a good seal prevents I wouldn't trust a rubber seal for long term refrigerant storage so plan on emptying or using up the entire contents of the bottle with this tool.
