Wow as advertised on Rope Lights

Just installed and my goodness they are truly amazing. - I tried mounting the camera both top and bottom and settled on the top mount. When the camera was under the TV, it seemed to me that it didn't pick up the colors at the top of the screen very well. I could also see a dog or a child hitting the camera as it was being installed from below. Installation was pretty easy. Turn on the lights, plug everything in and download the app. I have 75-85" bulbs and they fit my 82" TV well. Also a nice touch which I think is fairly new, they added little sticky clips to hold the light in place. These are thicker and heavier light bars than standard LED strips so I could see them getting dusty and falling off. I like to play with brightness and saturation for each film to find the right combination. For a comedy or other non-action film, I tend to lower the saturation and up the brightness a bit. Colors are more muted, but there's plenty of backlighting. For action movies or anything with lots of color themes, medium brightness and saturation up to 75%. The music modes aren't perfect, but they do add immersion to a music video, or just music in general. I tend to turn the sensitivity down a little otherwise the light pulses with every tiny noise and it seems out of sync with the music. It's also nice that you can choose to sync to the lighting control speaker or your phone. Speaking of phones, the app is simple and intuitive. Yes, you need to create an account πŸ™„, but it's just a username and password. There are many features and you can create your own colors and patterns if you like. The darker your room, the better they work. How pitch is best. I'm not sure how effective they would be in a daylight room; In fact, I would say if you can't make your room very dark, you won't be happy with this light at all. The camera picks up all ambient light, which affects color accuracy. I have a huge window in my TV room, but a blackout curtain is enough for the light to work well. On a dark TV screen it shows some white light from the side of the TV window but otherwise it's great. Overall I am very happy with these lights. I bought them at a great price and they really improve the viewing experience, while my old backlight just eased my eyes I think.
