Sturdy but doesn't stay closed as it's new

Bought for my dad as a Christmas present. He liked it and said it was a good wallet. However, after he removed things from the old wallet, it just wouldn't stay closed. He said he would "get used to it being turned off" after using it for a while. Let's see.
