I am writing this review to update the latest one and to acknowledge the quick response I received after posting. Amy's support rep quickly contacted me and tried to get the player working. After explaining that I had already contacted technical support, who would not be dissuaded from the supposedly prepared answers, it turned out that the product was indeed defective. I received this reply: I understand your problem and I would like to apologize for it. I think what you received is defective. I would like to send you a replacement so you can try again. And that's what happened. I got a second one and am now happy to give the item 4.5 stars. The frequency response of the stylus and the small speakers is not great, but for the price and the fact that external speakers can be connected via RCA or Bluetooth, it's worth it. Additional Credit for a Customer Service Representative! It was definitely a lot of fun listening to vinyl on a cute portable player. But the fun only lasted a few days. Without warning or reason, the left speaker turned off and a hum appeared in its place. The same applies to headphones. It looks like there is a short under the plate that is difficult to remove. At the moment we are very disappointed with this product. The sound quality is ok for small speakers when they work. We had no way of connecting to a larger system via the RCA outputs.
