Too big for my Garmin SmartDrive 95

Too long. I'm not sure how well this has worked on all other Smartdrive 95s. I bought it based on the good reviews and measurements. I needed a case to keep my Garmin safe but this isn't it! Actual length is 8", not 7" (as stated in description). That one inch difference allows my Garmin to slide in there quite a bit. The case itself seems solid so what do I think it is?
