I replaced them with sharp-edged bolts so my head could grab and flip them without risking cutting off the rounded edges and rendering them useless. I think this is a serious oversight on the part of the company. ALSO shown is a vertical bar that clips onto the tow bar ball parallel to the base plate. That's a problem. In this position, you need to accurately load the stroller onto the vertical rack. This makes the exercise crazy as the base plate is bolted to the trailer floor. There is no way to adjust the bar. You must load the vehicle perfectly in one line. If you deviate even a fraction of an inch, the clutch will not engage the ball. However, if you turn the base plate at right angles to the post, no matter how you load the stroller, you only have to move the post on the base plate to the right or left and you can easily lock the coupling on the ball. .
