I have them on every battery I own. I have 3 battery tenders that I use throughout the winter to service my batteries. I put them on the battery terminals and leave them there to connect the battery tender. Just make sure the terminals are flat on the battery. Otherwise they will short out the hood. You don't need fire. I have these plugs on my tractor, motorcycle, truck, vintage car. etc. I have been using them for over 15 years. Works great. They also have permanent connectors that connect directly to the studs. I use them too. My batteries are always plugged in. The batteries last 5 years if you keep them charged.
