For now (about a week after purchase) they work as expected. The charger and two sets of batteries (4 AA and 4 AAA) come in a box and in this box the batteries are in two plastic containers - unlike most chargers and batteries which are bought together (ie fully boxed). separate boxes or batteries inserted into the charger). The only issue I had was that the batteries are difficult to remove from the charger which is frankly typical of a charger of this shape/style. an interesting packaging choice and it should be noted that the battery boxes have small dividers and a reliable locking mechanism. I currently reuse these little boxes to store small computer screws (like M.2 screws). If not, I would consider this packaging overkill.
