I use it to turn on the vacuum when drilling holes in various Kreg attachments and also when using a grinder. This works fine for my application, but I hate the PVC cables that come with these devices. You get a "set" in a plastic wrap rolled up so tightly in the box that it's difficult to pull out when you want to use it. The pedal is not heavy enough to overcome the cable's tendency to twist or bend, especially in cold weather. I ended up removing the cord and replacing it with a 10 foot flexible extension cord and a new plug. No doubt this will void the warranty but now the pedal stays on the ground where I want it to be.
