We (our son) lost the original remote (hidden to go mad and now can't find it) that came with our Roku Ultra, the we use our theater hall. I finally decided to buy a replacement and for the price I thought it would do just fine for our purposes. It looks pretty authentic and doesn't feel cheap. All buttons work (they feel a bit more clicky than the OEM remote) and no pairing is required, which is great. It ran our Roku right out of the box (after adding batteries, of course)! There are a few things you should know about it before you buy it. First, it does NOT have a headphone jack and corresponding volume button like the original, so you can't connect headphones. It's a shame but it wasn't a problem for us as it's our cinema. Roku, and if we watch something there, we definitely use the sound system. That being said, we have a Roku 4 in our living room (see photos alongside this remote) and I'd be disappointed if I couldn't use headphones with this TV. If the headphone jack is important to you, I recommend paying for an OEM remote. Second, you really have to point that remote DIRECTLY at the Roku device to control it, and even then it's not always super responsive unless you're really close. I guess I shouldn't have expected more from an $8 device, but it ended up being a deal breaker for us. If your Roku is right in front of your sofa 5 feet away, this remote will work for you. Otherwise, I highly recommend you spend a few bucks more and purchase an OEM replacement remote, which I did and I'm so glad I did! Yes, the price is great and it looks and feels good. , but the functionality is not enough for the money saved. If you don't care for headphones and plan on using them within sight of your Roku, you might not be disappointed, but I still recommend getting a real Roku remote for a bit more. Hope that helps!
