I bought this for my bedroom so my small dog can climb on our bed and it works great for that purpose. I didn't think about what I would fill it with, but old towels and rarely used sheets were perfect. This freed up space in the linen closet and I no longer worry about my dog jumping on or off the bed. If you want it to last plan on darning it, I had to add a towel or two as it compacts over time.
