Was looking for something musical for my 3 year old niece. She has a habit of throwing and swinging things, so I had to rule out LOTS of instruments (e.g. guitar, keyboards, whatever she could actually carry). Summer. We went to the interactive museum and they had a grand piano with three octaves. She wasn't going to leave this thing, luckily for my brother, sister-in-law and I, she was the only kid in town who seemed interested. So I bought this as a gift, of course to make sure they wouldn't mind buying a loud toy for their house, I'm not a monster. I haven't seen her play with it myself, but I've been told it's her favorite pastime. The volume control is great, you can keep it low enough to not hear it from certain parts of your house, and it also exercises by jumping on it. She exhausts herself on this thing, and now it's easier to put her to bed and take a nap. Update: April 11, 2020 My brother told me that she would wake up in the middle of the night to play it. Now they take out the batteries before bed and change them in the morning after breakfast. This keeps her on her toes and busy during quarantine and they are glad she can now exercise and exercise at home. She prefers that to television.
