This thing is a waste of money. The ear cushions make the headset stretch over the head and not as comfortable as the original. My guess is that the kit makes the headset technically closed, but also makes it uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. I bought this thing years ago and wanted to love it, but since then I've taken it all off and only use the original stuff. The Astro A40s microphone is not very good, but it can be used. The included microphone is absolute junk. I also tried to use it and couldn't. When it works, it sounds awful, but is usually too busy cutting for anyone to notice. I had many complaints from my teammates and the raid group directly asked me to use a different microphone. I tried changing the mixer amp settings but nothing worked. I understand this is to reduce background noise at the tournament and was hoping it would help my teammates not hear my roommates, but this just sucks. If you really play LAN tournaments, this kit may come in handy for you. If you're like me and just want to hear how it sounds closed or want to "up" your lather on "skin", don't worry.
