We had a gold theme for our girls adoption outfits and I was a little disappointed that the back of the gold dots is silver so the fabric is silver all over is folded could be seen. It didn't spoil the overall picture. As others have said they are transparent and something must be underneath. I ordered a similar white one for Christmas from another seller and it had a lining under the tulle. I prefer this one, but these are fine too. Now we use them as play skirts.
