It seems you may or may not get the original version until all the old bags are sold. Now you can get the new composition version to which you have to gradually transfer your pets ! It's quite sad that this once great food that has helped so many cats has been changed to include chicken as the first ingredient which will cause problems for those with cats who have bird issues and require limited food. The new formula now also contains soybean oil, which is known to cause allergies in many cats! oh, and the tracks are different now too, grrrr. other things have changed too, so watch out for the ingredients so your cat doesn't get stomach problems again :( Traces similar to the taste of chicken liver in the original recipe, since chicken is now the main ingredient we can't seem to use this food anymore as the new recipe no longer going to be kibble for him with a "sensitive stomach" For my other cats who get the original recipe mixed 50/50 with their wellness core, turkey duck kibble They can't stand chicken every time they hit the hills our two other cats meet, perfect dry food for weight control, the chicken has it first, they throw it up every damn time, it's really annoying when these food companies change recipes when it's NOT needed and without really telling customers about it in advance. at the moment the pictures here just show you that new bagrams are coming soon; there is no new recipe on the picture ern or in the description but if you pay close attention you can see the new look of the bag shows different parts and says chicken and rice so I went to their website and sure enough they didn't just add chicken to it the ingredients, they reformulated the whole recipe to make a whole new kibble! Well guess what, it's time to take the food off the autoship and start the hunt for new kibble for those who'll soon be getting crabby and fussy when they can't get their mounds anymore. On the downside, this food was way too high in carbs, so perhaps it's a blessing that it's been reformulated to no longer be food for a sensitive stomach. Update: If you're in need of a new feed right now, I'm in luck with American Journey Grain Free Dry Duck Food (chewable). it's lower in carbs (24-25% dry carbs), hasn't had any vomiting/indigestion since its introduction on February 15th, no issues with poop (in fact they're mostly less bulky now so I scoop less) and everything except , 2 of ours 9 Cats Who Might Love It. Even our IBD cat, who was sensitive to eating the original mounds after we first corrected them with home-made food, also switched to AJ dry duck food very well, he had no poop or vomit either. The only thing I believe is about 100 fewer calories per cup compared to Hill's. Therefore, you may need to feed a little more kibble than usual when counting/restricting calories. However, 1/4 cp of this food twice daily (about 205 calories) is more than enough calories for most average, not very active cats weighing 12-13 pounds or less, so you're still not eating much of this food use in your diet. We're pleased with the switch and thought we'd share this information with those who are unsure what to switch to if their cats can't eat chicken either or aren't comfortable with New Hill's delicate formula.
