So glad to find this! There were problems with cats digging in containers around our Japanese maples and they didn't want to deal with oversized rocks or mulch when it came time to repot them. These mats are very easy to cut and shape to the size of your bin, they also have small connecting tabs to connect them together. although simply overlapping them also works. Used leftovers are turned upside down to further hold the mats together. also added a thin layer of loose container soil on top (leaving the spikes exposed) to better hide them, so now they're barely visible. So far, so good!
