I originally bought this to use when I fly commercial airlines. I have never had to use it for this purpose (head protection in the event of a cabin fire). I actually used it to make a roast one evening and was soon surprised by a decent dinner. Because if anyone ever reads this, I'll explain. When it burns on the plane, the fire will tear through the plane's passenger cabin, and putting this on your head can save your life and provide you with protection from intense heat for 10 to 15 seconds. For that I have nothing but common sense and my many years of experience in aviation.
