I spent several hours trying to get my Y510P to recognize a drive with this cart. I was disgusted and put it off for a while and then came back and tried again. I have verified that the drive itself works fine with my computer when connected to a drive dock or external SATA adapter. The car itself seems to be the problem. Oh, and in addition to not seeing the drive when it's in the caddy, there's also some conflict when the caddy is in use because the machine will boot FOREVER to get to the logon point and actually log on. Once my profile is loaded, performance isn't too bad, but the drive never shows up in Disk Manager. Anyway, today I realized I've fooled around long enough that Revane didn't take this car back, and I also threw away the packaging. Disgusted, I dismantled the car. Of course, it was only afterwards that I discovered that there was a 3-position microswitch on the side of the car. I don't recall reading anything about a microswitch on packaging, and I didn't realize the whole thing until I ripped the component apart. But since I no longer have the packaging, that might be my problem. I can't help but wonder (late now) if my caddy broke because it had the wrong microswitch setting and not because of some crappy quality control. I won't spend another $20 to find out.
