Don't rely on the locking mechanism

This product fit easily in our hollow core door, but we quickly found that it wouldn't work to keep our cats out. They managed to open the door within a few hours. We ended up having to incorporate a separate small locking mechanism to keep them from breaking. The tabs on the bottom can also move during use, accidentally locking animals in or out. We ended up putting some CA on the guide to add resistance and that helped. So if you just want a cat door this is a good buy but if you need something secure to keep animals in and out I would keep looking.
