Review on Brother DS 640 Compact Document Scanner by Adam Rogers

I bought this product to digitize all my paper documents. None of my paper documents were in "bad" condition i.e. with tears, stains, etc. However, this cheap "scanner" was unable to scan a document that had been folded horizontally multiple times. The folds were standard and the document was otherwise unremarkable. First, my work space was clean and tidy with no indentations, indentations or obstacles. I install on a flat surface to ensure minimal resistance. This scanner can only scan documents that are not folded, wrinkled, or otherwise in poor condition. I went as far as ironing the document, even ironing it to flatten it out, and the document felt as flat as a regular sheet of paper. However, this was not acceptable for this scanner and after a dozen attempts of the final scan I decided to discard this file. When opening the paper exit cover according to the software instructions, the paper was torn and cannot be repaired. It was a signed original document that cannot be replaced. The feeder will not hold the document even as it feeds, no matter how perfectly positioned.
