Review on Continental ContiSportContact 5 215/50 R17 95W summer by Wiktor Krel ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Mediocre product, probably won't use.

Golf R, 225/40 R18 Of course, I drive actively on Erk, but no tracks, drags, races. Four-wheel drive, so there was no slippage in principle. At the same time, the rubber was enough for the season. For the second season, I put it reluctantly, and by the end I literally erased it to the cord. During the summer season, I don’t wind more than 10 - 12 thousand. Before buying, I read that it is quickly erased, but not to the same extent. Rubber made in Portugal, if that. Before Kontik was regular oak Bridge RE050a, which has passed 5 seasons and could still ride a little. At the same time, the Kontik is quite strong. A couple of times I got into repair cutouts on the Hong Kong Ring Road, the speed was about 140, the disks bent, but there were no cuts or hernias on the rubber. Perhaps, due to the low profile, the sidewall does not bite. For the second season, the erased one had several punctures. I drove on a deflated slowly, like on RunFlat. And after such adventures, she was alive. But I won't buy again. Not ready to pay every season for a new set. And, damn it, you don’t expect silence and comfort from wide, low-profile and soft rubber “for sports”. She makes noise because she clings to the asphalt and catches rutting for the same reason. But it stands in turns and responds to steering movements with a minimum delay. If you want comfort - choose a more "quiet" rubber and sacrifice handling.

Pros
  • Excellent adhesion to the road, quite durable.
Cons
  • Washes great too
