I hate buying something and then finding out you have to jump through hoops to get it installed and working properly. I don't want to spend two months finally giving up and buying Netgear like I would with any other brand. I bought a cheaper version of the Netgear router and really liked it. But after almost two years he just died. Since the repair was too cheap, I decided to get a replacement. I could upgrade to the same version for about half the price, but I liked the stronger firewalls and closed ports on this one. I cannot recommend Netgear products enough for their sheer simplicity. Anyone can install a Netgear router. They connect and work with no problems. I'm very happy with 8 ports instead of 4, I like the ease of installation and I'm one of the lucky Netgear users - for the second time.
