I contacted Tripp Lite about this 1 power strip portable surge protector from Tripp Lite as Revain has had a lot of reviews posted about overheating and fire and related products. Tripp Lite was unable to provide any documentation to indicate that the Tripp Lite 1-Outlet Portable Surge Protector Power Strip will interrupt power to connected devices and/or other safe failure modes when the surge protector is depleted. On the other hand, the Tripp Lite Isobar 2 Outlet Surge Protection Tripp Lite Isobar 2 Power Strip, Direct Plug, Metal, Lifetime Limited Warranty and $10,000 Insurance (ISOBLOK2-0) includes a failsafe thermal fuse and cuts power to all outlets. when it can no longer perform surge suppression. I went back to Revain for the Tripp Lite 1 Outlet Portable Surge Protected Power Strip and bought the Tripp Lite Isobar 2 instead. I find the Tripp Lite Tripp Lite Isobar 2 to be well worth the extra cost.
