I ordered this as a short term fix as I still have an iPhone 6 for the next few months that I know of. I just hate having to deal with upgrading and learning a new phone. My Otterbox Commuter series lasted 3 years and I've dropped them countless times. Eventually the OB broke so badly that it had to be replaced. This case is slightly thinner than the suburban Otterbox but looks cool. It's also one solid piece rather than two separate pieces of rubber and plastic. I love that it has a built in magnet for the vent clip holders. I don't like that you can't use a pop socket with this case, there's just no logical place to plug it in. The built-in finger holder is made of hard metal, so it is not very comfortable to use on the fingers. It fits snugly on the stand and rotates in all directions to support your phone. Not bad for the money and in a short time I plan on using it. I didn't drop my phone. I can't say how well he passed this test. It also comes with a protective film on the screen. I don't know if this is just to protect against scratches or if it prevents the screen from cracking when dropped.
