The product came in the original box, decent packaging, everything is safe. There are no instructions for assembling the base, but it's a fairly simple setup (two sides come together, then unscrew the large nut on the base to set the base in place and reattach the large nut). Once installed and connected, the device works quite well. The interface at the top has LEDs for each function, you can set the timer up to 12 hours, the device can work with fan / low heat / high heat / custom temperature. Oscillation can be turned on/off in any mode. There is a separate power button (rocker switch) on the back at the bottom. On the front bottom is this fun, cool looking campfire image that can be toggled on and off. The overall package and metal front grille don't go together very well, and the whole thing is covered in warning stickers. Functionally it seems to work well, but it falls short of the build quality and attention to detail of the Dyson.
