I started quilting a few months ago and am slowly learning different techniques for making quilt blocks . One of these techniques is paper sewing. I was recommended this ruler to make sure you leave a 1/4 inch seam allowance when gluing paper. That works great. It seems like an unnecessary tool when you can use a regular ruler to make sure you have seam allowances, but it saves a lot of time as it has a little ridge on the edge of the ruler where the 1/4 inch line runs. - just lay it on the edge and cut it off. You don't need to line up the ruler to make sure you have the right amount left. A great time-saving tool for quilters who want to try their hand at paper sewing.
