Review on ROSES Appetite Destroying Wallet by Rocksax by Jon Conner

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Marketing gimmick prevents true audiophile output

This remastered album is probably the best version available on vinyl, but it's a shame Geffen didn't take full advantage of both discs. Three songs per side at 45 rpm seems like a no-brainer. Instead, we get an entire page devoted to the hologram - a non-essential gimmick that you'll likely look at right away and never look at again. Also, the original Robert Williams cover doesn't look sharp and probably isn't high enough resolution to fit (or spread out if you have a newer version) on the front and back covers. Not a bad release overall, but save the holograms for Record Store Day and give us a truly audiophile edition of this classic album.
