A while back I bought some crappy fake cables for a little less money and none of them lasted more than a month in my car. They worked better at home, but they were still crap. I have tried them and they are much better. They can maintain a connection without falling out of the socket (although my phone is probably over 5 years old) and I haven't had a single disconnect yet despite using them in poor conditions. I have the 3-1/2" version and have bought six of these in the last year. No questions asked.
