Works very well when used as a guide. I have been using this set for over forty years. The first in the car workshop on only steel brake lines. We cut the line to the desired length and flare it with a double flare. As far as I can remember, WE never had any problems with leaks. It works the same as this one. Insulate the pipe inside and out. Do not overtighten the pipe clamp. This gives the pipe an egg shape and a bad flare. Make sure the pipe is cut straight or you will end up with an off-center flare as well. This kit works very well for me. I have used two other kits similar to this one. Straight, deburr and don't overtighten the clamp. Take your time, test the straightness of the tube by placing it on the clamp bar, otherwise you could be spending $200+ on a rotating tube. I've never used it and I buy brake hose reels and fitting packs.
