Toasters (two piece) are either pretty cheap or ridiculously expensive, but technically they all work pretty much the same. Oddly enough, there is no average price. This unbranded toaster works as it should. My only minor complaint is that the lifting mechanism is pretty finicky at the end of a cycle. On the other hand, it toasts bagels fairly well, meaning it handles the cut sides (towards the middle) well and gets nice and warm on the outside. Regular toast comes out evenly toasted, although I still played around with the dark to toast the toast to my liking. The tiny LED "display" is dim, rather dull and useless. This toaster looks good with a retro style. I would like a choice of black. I may upgrade in about a year for easier cleaning and reliability.
