Having had a hemiglossectomy for cancer (removing the side half of the tongue) and now I feed myself through a feeding tube, ice chips are absolutely the only thing I am allowed to at least have in your mouth for the next few weeks. I thought these ice cream bowls would be perfect. I was wrong. The size of the mini cubes is the only good thing about these ice cube trays. And the cube size is really perfect for my needs. A tray fills almost half of the solo party cup. Removing ice is difficult at best; It's a full pita and the cubes are already melting (probably due to body heat from all the manipulation and manipulation required). There is so much water mixed into the removed ice that there is no point in storing it in the freezer once removed or I will just end up with a large cup shaped ice cube. I need to remove the ice and use it immediately. Also draining the water before freezing doesn't help as the already melting cubes will freeze anyway. I'm just going to buy some cheap regular ice cube trays and crush the ice with my powerful new clone Vitamix blender.
