Review on Kaito KA900 Voyager Max Emergency Radio: Digital Solar Crank, AM/FM/SW, NOAA Weather, Bluetooth, Real-time Alert, MP3 Player, Recorder & Phone Charger by Charles Collier

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent VHF and NOAA reception and amazing sound in the emergency radio.

Kaito's new flagship emergency portable radio. The KA900 Voyager MAX adds shortwave and stereo capabilities to the existing KA700 platform. Search YouTube for the model number and my name for a full video review. Excellent, stereo separation is sharp and clear. * Bluetooth 4.1 * Direct input keyboard for entering radio stations and presets. * Replaceable, standard top button, protected cell 18650. * Updated flashlight with more travel, now very useful. * Reading lights. * Solar panel. * Dynamo. * Record and play MP3 by time. * Tons of presets. * Large and easy to read display. * NOAA weather band reception is amazing. * The alarm function is highly customizable. * Calendar function. * Text reading function. Great tool for emergencies. * Equalizer settings when playing MP3. * Various repeat modes for MP3 players. * Easy to carry. * Cool color. Features that can be added or improved: * The AM circuit needs improvement. Pops when tuning in, upper band suffers from internal noise.* SW has too many bands for digital radio. I want it to be at most divided by maybe 7.* There is AM leakage in the SW band. Benefits of excellent stereo sound. If you want AM and SW to work flawlessly, 600L might be for you. My choice is KA700. I don't need SW on my emergency radio and the KA700 has better AM circuitry along with most of the features of the KA900.
