The smaller/lower bushing ring was VERY tight on the splined metal shaft. I could barely run it by hand and thought I would damage the plastic splines on the new ring even after repeatedly cleaning the metal splines with a wire brush. I remembered a review mentioning this. I made sure the splines were aligned and used a deep socket slightly larger than the diameter of the metal shaft and tapped (hard) the ring on the shaft with a rubber mallet. After he cleaned the top of the shaft I used the old big/top ring between the seat and the new ring and proceeded to drive the new ring into place. IMPORTANT - DON'T FORGET! - THE BOTTOM RING DOES NOT GO INTO THE ENTIRE BASKET! There will be a gap of 1/4" to 1/2". Reinstalling the top six hub eyebolts will PULL the basket OUT and sit flush with the hub. When you reinstall the 6 screws, start, tighten and tighten evenly in a criss-cross pattern until it stops. Hope this helps someone. Our 10 year old washing machine works like new again!
