There was a cheap temporary fix
The screen tape in the kit sucks, my screen came loose on the second day and I wiped it all down with rubbing alcohol and clamped it for 24 hours. The touchscreen digitizer failed after 3 weeks. I should have just bought a new tablet at this point, but hey, it was cheap and worth a try.
