Pros: These boots kept my feet dry in light rain, heavy rain, puddles, tall wet grass, and water less than 2 inches deep. I have no complaints about the water resistance. So of course there is no ankle support. The fit and support was great for running around town. We ran 20km every day for a month across trails, roads and cobblestones with no blisters or pinch points. The laces stay tight. I like the looks. The bad: My feet were warm and sweaty at 60 degrees. They were a little uncomfortably warm when the air rose above 75 degrees. After three weeks of wearing them every day, I suddenly realized that the shoes smelled so bad. I had to air out the insoles. In those three weeks I washed the stench off the insoles (they dry overnight, no problem) but the stench in the boots was harder to combat when traveling. Brought bag and a fresh pair of socks General: Successful Wanted to take A PAIR of shoes on a trip to Europe: route-city-plane; rainy, muddy Faroe Islands to hot cobblestone Amsterdam. These shoes served their purpose and allowed me to pack easily even though I was too hot for many days. Now that I'm home they will be good winter walking shoes.
