Need a 'dock' to connect a new laptop to my old VGA monitor. Connected (Windows 10), ba-dup, recognized and working. Nothing simpler than that. There is also a USB 3.0 port which I plugged into a 4 port USB hub I had lying around. Wireless keyboard, mouse, external hard drive and external DVD drive work without any problems. The other port, USB-C, allows for power (from a laptop charger) and charging of your laptop (at 20V in my case). This is a nice feature that my workstation dock (which costs four times as much) doesn't have. However, I have noticed that when other devices are connected to the USB 3.0 port, the charger recognizes standard USB devices, drops to 5V and stays there. It may be right not to overload other USB devices. Or maybe you can trick the charger by reversing the order of the plug-ins, like laptop first, then add others... Anyway, that's the charger's problem, not this product, just thought it was worth mentioning , if you want to fast charge the laptop, it may be more reliable to connect the charger directly. Overall it does exactly what it says on the tin and is great quality compared to some other USB adapters. Would buy again.
